"Carnivalists are the protagonists", with this motto 8th Carnival of Kalamata will make its official launch, with a festive celebration in the square of 23th of March, on Friday 14 of February 2020. On the occasion of Valentine's Day, the opening ceremony will have as a main theme, the celebration of lovers!
For another year the city of Kalamata will enter the rhythm of carnival with a full program of event, concerts and games, until Sunday 2 of March, where the closing ceremony will take place in the Central Square, with the daily parade of carnival crews and tanks. The main streets of the city become a great party for the carnivalists.
For the first time a children's carnival is organized, dedicated to recycling. The children's carnival will include a variety of games and activities for the children and will conclude with the children's carnival parade on Aristomenous Pedestrian Street.
Another innovation of this year's Carnival is "Carnival Village". This is the Carnival Crew Costume Showcase and beyond. Located in the central square of Kalamata, it will be open daily from 18:00 to 21:00.
